The client envisions an open-plan layout with seamlessly connected areas to promote a fluid and cohesive spatial experience. A primary concern is the absence of a garden; therefore, it is essential to incorporate outdoor garden space into the design. The design should emphasize a sense of verticality, with a substantial amount of height to enhance spatial volume.
The aesthetic should reflect a modern contemporary style, utilizing raw, natural materials to create a minimalist yet textured look that complements the overall design ethos. A refined palette of earthy tones, exposed finishes, and subtle material contrasts should contribute to a sophisticated yet warm ambiance. The overall approach should balance functionality and elegance while maintaining a timeless architectural character.
Seamlessly connected living spaces shaped through openness, verticality, and integrated landscape.
The design of UP House emerges from a strong response to site context, Vaastu principles, and natural light and wind movement. Defined by sharp-edged cuboidal forms and multiple facades, the architecture creates a bold yet minimalist identity. A distinctive U-shaped projection at the first level acts as a functional bench and a key architectural feature.
The house is planned across three spatial bays — public spaces like pooja, dining, and kitchen in the first bay, a wider family living area connected to landscaped green courts in the second, and private bedroom zones in the third. Floating concrete stairs, integrated greenery, and open volumes enhance the connection between indoor and outdoor spaces while maintaining a clean natural material palette.
